Before and After Post Templates
Show what changed for a customer, struck out and revealed.
A before and after template shows what changed: the problem as it was, then the result, side by side or one after the other. It is one of the most convincing posts a business can share, because people see the difference instead of being told about it. These 6 animated templates strike out the before and reveal the after, and Frekto makes them in your brand.

3 steps
- Pick a design. Choose one of the 6 looks below: a red pen correcting the page, a meter swinging to green, a photo slider and more. Each one plays as a short video or works as a still.
- Add what it was and what it became. Write one to three pairs, each a before and its after. Frekto can help from your website and your results. Add two photos for the photo designs.
- Check it and post. Frekto puts in your logo and colours. Check the words, then post it now or schedule it for Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook.

| Design | What happens | Best for | Not for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red pen | A typed page where each before is struck out with a red marker and the after is handwritten above it. Clear, human and easy to read. | Services and processes · A friendly, human tone · Any platform | Changes that need photos to be believed |
| Diff | A code diff: each before is a red “−” line, then its letters scramble into the green “+” after. Made for software and tech brands. | Software and tech · Product updates · LinkedIn and X | Audiences who don’t know code |
| Gauge | A meter whose needle swings from red toward green as each before turns into its after. Great for results and improvements. | Results and improvements · Service speed · Upbeat brands | Changes that aren’t better or worse, just different |
| Slider | Your two photos in one frame: a hand drags the handle from the before to the after, with the changes listed below. | Rooms, spaces and makeovers · Screens and websites · Instagram and Reels | When you have no photos |
| Flip card | The before photo card spins over to show the after, then both settle side by side with the changes below. Playful and clear. | Makeovers and refits · Playful brands · Stories and Reels | Very formal brands |
| Ledger | Paper over an ink slab: each pair crosses a vertical seam, the before dimmed and struck through, the after bold. A clean comparison. | Business results · Then-and-now posts · LinkedIn | Photo makeovers |
How to write a good one
formula, do’s and don’ts, caption
- The claim: what changed, in one line.
- The pairs: one to three, each “what it was → what it became”.
- The proof: real photos or real numbers, when you have them.
- The close: what the viewer can do to get the same result.
Do
- Use a real customer or your own real result
- Keep each side of a pair short and in plain words
- Make the after clearly better, not just different
- Ask the customer before you share their story
- Use the same angle and light for before and after photos
Don’t
- Don’t exaggerate or invent a result
- Don’t edit photos to make the after look better than it is
- Don’t share a customer’s details without their permission
- Don’t promise everyone the same result
- Don’t use health or money results that need a disclaimer you can’t give
Caption formula
Before: <what it was>. After: <what it became>. ✨ <who it was for, or how> + 2–3 hashtags
For example:
Before: a tired corner nobody sat in. After: the busiest table in the café. ✨ New seating, better light, same great coffee. #cafe #beforeandafter

Questions
5
What is a before and after post?
A post that shows how something was and how it is now: a room, a process, a result or a customer’s situation. It works because people can see the change for themselves.
Do I need photos?
Not for most designs. Four of these templates use words only: the before is struck out and the after appears. The Slider and Flip card designs use a before photo and an after photo.
Can I share a customer’s results?
Only with their permission, and only real results. Many businesses ask the customer to approve the post before it goes out.
Video or still image?
Both. Every design plays as a short video with sound and ends on a finished frame you can also post as a picture.
Is it free?
